Paradisus Rio de Oro - A Naturalist's Guide
Nestled in a forested coastal setting, Paradisus Rio de Oro (PRO) offers a unique opportunity to experience Cuba’s rich natural environment. The resort is bordered by Bahia de Naranjo National Park to the east, Sendero Arqueologico Las Guanas Park to the west, and a mangrove lagoon bordering the resort, creating a diversity of ecosystems. This Guide is a small grass roots project by guests of the resort with a passion for nature and photography. It is meant to help resort guests identify plant and animal species they encounter during their stay, some of which are endemic to Cuba, and gain a better appreciation for the island’s distinctive flora and fauna.
